New Residuals Album in the Works

»Posted on Apr 25, 2019

After four years of introspection and staff changes, The Residuals have figured out what they’re all about, and they’re ready to share more music with the world. Plug thine ears, lest the resounding “woot” deafen thee. The album will seek to define our genre, Prairie Celtic, and I’m proud to say that we plan to include several compositions of mine: the songs “The Maple Tree”, “My Town”, “Way Down Here”, and “A Long Time Gone”. There will also be a few tunes I’ve written: “The Missing Head”, “Get That Cat Outta Here”, and “Brene Brown’s Hornpipe.” More updates to come!

After nearly two years, The Playford Suite, a composition of mine, is ready to be performed in its entirety, with dancers, at a Free Flow show. I am thrilled to see so much talent – musicianship, dancing, choreography, and love – applied to my music. Our performances will be the culmination of all our effort. Come see! Listen to Mac Talla Quartet in Concert May 20th!

»Posted on May 10, 2018

May 20th at 2:30 at Grace-Westminster Church in Saskatoon, Mac Talla will be putting on a show. We love to do shows like this, because it gives us a chance to play the music we truly love. My favourites on our programme will be the 2nd movement of Beethoven quartet that always yanks my heartstrings, our arrangement of “The Rains of Castamere” from Game of Thrones, and of course the three Playford dance pieces I’ve been telling you about for months. I have heard a few concerts at Grace-Westminster before, and I’m also looking forward to playing with the beautiful acoustics. This will be a memorable event! 505 10th Street East, Saskatoon. For more on this event, send me an email, or visit our Facebook page. Click here!
